Abstract
⺠ERK from Litopenaeus vannamei (LVERK) was cloned and recognized as a novel homolog of ERK subfamily. ⺠LVERK has similar signaling module with mammalian ERK in response to extracellular stimuli. ⺠The activation of LVERK took place in WSSV infection. ⺠WSSV may acquire the ability to activate ERK to aid its replication.
