Abstract
The Mandala/Johari Window exercise is designed to facilitate the student in realizing the importance of self-awareness and its relationship to developing therapeutic relationships with others. A strong sense of self-awareness provides the foundation on which to establish personal boundaries, explore prejudices, develop goals and enhance critical thinking skills, all key elements of developing therapeutic relationships. This article outlines the development of a Mandala/Johari Window, a description of mandalas and of the Johari Window and suggestions for applications and revisions.
