Abstract
												This article presents an introduction to the history of Web-based and Web-assisted teaching, learning, and assessment. The development of the field of distance education and its relevance to nursing will be documented. Published utilization studies of one set of online nurse educational tools, the Assessment Technologies Institute content mastery and comprehensive predictor, will be reviewed and discussed. Methods by which schools of nursing can access and integrate these online nursing education resources will be explored.
