Abstract
Nurse educators face challenges in how to teach and mentor an increasingly diverse student nurse population. This article reviews some of the difficulties and challenges associate degree nurse educators face in providing culturally competent nursing education for today's community college nursing students. Excerpts from interviews with students are provided to promote an enhanced understanding of the issues faced by this group. Strategies for use in the classroom and clinical setting are described.
