Abstract
Health care facilities are implementing the electronic medical record for a variety of reasons. The purpose of this article will summarize the challenges nurse educators and students face as a result of recent changes in documentation. A review of literature revealed impacting technology, curriculum considerations, ethical considerations, and economic influences evolving from these changes. The summarized data is presented along with possible solutions as increased technology enters the clinical setting.
