Abstract
For the nursing profession to be successful, qualified educators are needed in the academic setting. The supply of such educators is affected by both the clinical and educational preparation of potential candidates. Many nurses with expertise in the clinical setting are being recruited for these positions, however for these clinicians to become expert teachers require strategies that will foster development.
