Abstract
High-fidelity computer patient simulation manikins (human patient simulators [HPSs]) have been added to the nurse educators' repertoire of tools. A review of the related literature and the development of a regional simulation hospital are described. Nursing leaders in a rural area identified the need to pool resources for nursing students and staff educators to access HPSs and safely practice clinical skill and critical thinking abilities. As a collaborative effort, a regional simulation hospital was implemented.
