Abstract
Registered nursing programs give students access to clinical participation, which allows the students to learn in the clinical setting. This article suggests that nursing students use journal writing to reflect on clinical experiences in each stage of their educational program. The students, when guided by educators through their practice of reflective writing, will learn to responsibly care for patients, incorporate a code of ethics, and empathize with patients.
