Abstract
This study seeks to better understand how collaboration between the Associates Degree Nursing and Education departments at a medium sized (5,000 student) urban college can provide an interactive learning experience for students. One faculty person from the Department of Nursing and one faculty person from the Education Department co-sponsored a joint project endeavor over a period of one year from the summer of 2007 until the summer of 2008. The collaboration was designed to create an intervention that would improve collegiality and student teaching-learning between the two departments. Collaboration between the two departments seemed logical because of the importance of teaching/learning and service to the community for both departments.
