Abstract
A binder-free and hierarchical core-shell cathode is fabricated with vertically aligned carbon nanotubes (VACNT) as the core material and hydrous ruthenium dioxide (RuO2) as the shell material. The hydrous RuO2 shell eliminated the direct contact between the VACNT and nucleophilic reactive intermediate species in the electrolyte, enabling an excellent cycle lifetime. Hence, the VACNT@RuO2 cathode is a promising candidate for rechargeable Li-O2 batteries.369
