Abstract
- We examined the temporal and spatial variation of Ostreid herpesvirus 1 (OsHV-1) variants in China.
- We analyzed the phylogenetic relationship of Chinese variants (24) of OsHV and variants from nine countries (47).
- OsHV-1 was under rapid evolution accompanied by the emergence of new variants.
- Cultivated bivalves may face potential threats from both the emerging and endemic variants of OsHV-1.
