Abstract
Recent evidences receiving interests in Japan support several beneficial effects of vitamin E, especially an unsaturated vitamin E, tocotrienols (T3), on inhibition of tumor development. The inhibitory effect of T3 is basically attributable to the antiangiogenic activity minimizing tumor growth and the regulation of growth factor-dependent signaling in endothelial cells. The findings suggest T3 as one of the most attractive compounds for cancer prevention present in foods such as rice bran, cereals, palm and green vegetables.
