Abstract
An early diagnosis of nutrition deficiency and metabolic disorders in autism and proper therapeutic interventions in some patients significantly improve both cognitive abilities and behavioral deficiencies. Some authors suggested that support for the nutritional and metabolic problems by increasing nutrient intake may reduce the symptoms and co-morbidities that are associated with autism. In this respect, the nutritional intervention and proper supplementation plays a more and more important role in the treatment of autism. In this paper we summarize current knowledge about importance of metabolic factors in autistic spectrum disorders and present influence of suitable and personalized diet on symptoms of this disorder.
