Abstract
⺠Phenotypic and gene expression roles of ÏL in Listeria monocytogenes were examined. ⺠ÏL promotes resistance to a wide range of environmental and chemical stresses. ⺠Genome wide transcriptome analysis confirmed ÏL control on various genes. ⺠ÏL-controlled genes uncovered are involved in execution of diverse cellular functions. ⺠ÏL is a global transcription regulator vital in L. monocytogenes stress adaptation.
