Abstract
⺠471 L. monocytogenes strains isolated from food and processing plants were subjected to serotyping, lineages and antimicrobial susceptibility. ⺠Only two strains (0.42%) showed resistance. ⺠The resistance to tetracycline compounds was due to the presence of tet(M), which not integrated in the conjugative transposon Tn916-Tn1545 family. ⺠The resistance to hydrophilic fluoroquinolones was attributed to active efflux associated with overexpression of gene lde. ⺠The prevalence of resistant L. monocytogenes strains in Poland is low.
