Abstract
⺠Contradictory results have been obtained in relation to histamine production by Oenococcus oeni strains. ⺠Most evidence supports that histamine production is not a characteristic of O. oeni strains. ⺠To solve this controversy the use of common analytical methods as well as common histamine-produced O. oeni strains is needed.
