Abstract
► A duplex qPCR method for detecting and quantifying verrucosidin producing molds was developed. ► The TaqMan qPCR protocol includes an IAC based on the β-tubulin gene. ► The qPCR allows accurate quantification of verrucosidin producing molds in dry ripened foods. ► The qPCR method could be useful to monitor the target molds in HACCP programs to prevent the risk of verrucosidin formation.
