Abstract
► Pigs were examined by bacteriology and serology to verify the Salmonella status. ► Ca. 90% of positive pigs were identified by bacteriology of caeca and caecal lymph nodes. ► Only one quarter of all Salmonella positive pigs showed a positive serological result. ► Reduction of the cut-off does not increase compliance of bacteriology and serology.
