Abstract
► Measured the ability of a strain of Salmonella Newport to live in oysters. ► Newport strain survived within oysters for at least 60 days. ► Compared this isolate of Newport to E. coli and found significant differences in survivability. ► Also significant difference between these two strains after the oysters were depurated. ► No difference between oyster isolate and other strains of Newport or other serovars.
