Abstract
► We investigate for the first time the presence of fungi and ochratoxin A in foods from the Republic of Niger. ► We find that samples were contaminated with a large number of fungi. ► We find that peanut was more contaminated by ochratoxin A than cereals. ► We conclude that fungi isolated could be a source of contamination of food commodities by mycotoxins.
