Abstract
⺠We examined levels and serovars of Salmonella on two farms re-using litter. ⺠Re-use litter tended to show lower Salmonella (levels and serovars) than new litter. ⺠Lower water activity in re-used litter have played a role. ⺠From a food safety view point re-use litter is no worse that fresh litter.
