Abstract
â¢We investigate the impact of grocery shopping frequency on the healthfulness of food purchases.â¢We use food-purchase data from a panel of American households in the empirical analyses.â¢We find that shopping frequency has a negative and significant effect on healthfulness of food purchases.â¢We also find that consumers spend relatively more on temptation foods as they shop more frequently.
