Abstract
► Consumers, traders and farmers of vegetables from peri-urban farming were studied. ► This study quantified subjective risk judgments with regard to food safety hazards. ► A conceptual model was developed to elicit subjective risk perceptions. ► Respondent categories differed in terms of perceived risks. ► Determinants of the levels of perceived risks were examined.
