Abstract
⺠We provide a timely investigation of household food expenditures away from home in the US. ⺠Analysis is carried out by estimating a sample selection system. ⺠Income and socio-demographic variables have differentiated effects on expenditures. ⺠Households of different types are found to have different consuming behaviors.
