Agricultural market integration in India: An analysis of select commodities

► The study attempts to assess the extent and degree of market integration of major commodities. ► Gonzalo-Granger (G-G) model and persistence profile approach are used for this. ► Results show that gram and edible oils, which face fewer trade restrictions, are well-integrated. ► Rice, which faces maximum trade restrictions, shows lesser integration. ► Broad implication is that more open policies probably aid in market integration.
