Abstract
⺠In this study we examine the impact of the BSE on Spanish beef prices. ⺠We focus on price volatility responses of prices in the beef marketing chain. ⺠We find that BSE alters price behavior and increases volatility. ⺠During the BSE, price volatilities at different market levels are negatively related.
