Abstract
⺠The distributional effect of Japan's rice policy from 1986 to 2010 is evaluated. ⺠The effect of rice policy changes is evaluated using a partial equilibrium model. ⺠Policy measures include government purchase, output payment, and acreage control. ⺠Acreage control has done the most to increase income transfer to producers.
