Abstract
⺠Micronutrient deficiencies affect more than two billion people worldwide. ⺠Over-consumption of over-refined foods contributes to metabolic diseases in some countries. ⺠Mineral micronutrients in food crops can be enhanced by breeding, biotechnology or agronomy. ⺠Vitamins and other health beneficial compounds can be produced in crops by transgenic technology.
