Abstract
⺠Progress in hunger eradication is measured by hunger indices. ⺠We review hunger indices against desirable properties. ⺠Indices ignore distributional issues, hunger consequences and the political process. ⺠Huger eradication depends on political will, policies and programmes. ⺠We propose an index measuring commitment in fighting hunger.
