► Duroc sire line positively influences intramuscular fat and fat composition. ► Moura breed positively influences meat tenderness and intramuscular fat. ► The source of oil supplemented in the diet does not influence meat quality. ► The best n − 6/n − 3 ratio was obtained with dietary canola + flax oil supplementation. ► The least iodine value was obtained with dietary supplementation of canola oil.
