Abstract
⺠The yield of nitrosoheme production in acidic acetone solution increased to 100%. ⺠Nitrite, ascorbate and HCl had interplay effect on nitrosoheme yield and colour. ⺠1.19% HCl, 123.08 mM ascorbate and 200 mM nitrite is the optimum condition. ⺠The synthesized pigment was dinitrosyl heme with a nitric oxide coordinate on Fe.
