Abstract
► SNP screening of PPARGC1A and CAPNS1 genes and association with meat quality in pigs. ► PPARGC1A SNP was associated with water holding capacity-related parameters, as pH. ► PPARGC1A and CAPNS1 mRNA levels were associated with drip loss in Duroc × Pietrain pigs. ► Low level of DNA methylation was found in CAPNS1 promoter.
