Abstract
⺠Pb is a pervasive and persistent environmental toxicant. ⺠Oxidative stress has been proposed as a possible mechanism involved in Pb toxicity. ⺠Jute leaf is edible and contains significant quantity of phyto-antioxidants. ⺠This is the first report on protective role of jute leaf against Pb-intoxication. ⺠It mainly acts through reducing oxidative stress associated with Pb-intoxication.
