Abstract
► We study the interaction of caffeic acid and rosmarinic acid in Perilla frutescens. ► Both compounds modulate hepatic GSH synthesis and protect against oxidative damage. ► Caffeic acid plays an important role in the increased hepatic GSH concentration. ► Caffeic acid shows additive hepatic protection with rosmarinic acid.
