Abstract
► Cadmium caused oxidative damage in mice testis acutely exposed to this metal. ► Cadmium exposure affected cell lipids, proteins, DNA, enzymatic and non-enzymatic antioxidants in mice testis. ► γ-Oryzanol therapy restored lipid peroxidation and SOD and GST activities to the control levels. ► Therapy with γ-oryzanol improved partially testicular δ-ALA-D activity inhibited by acute cadmium exposure. ► Cadmium accumulated in testis after acute exposure and the therapy with γ-oryzanol reduced this accumulation in 23%.
