Abstract
► Pheophorbide a and pheophytin a were found as potent anti-inflammatory constituents. ► Pheophorbide a and pheophytin a exhibited inhibition of NO production. ► The NO inhibitory activity exerted via the inhibition of iNOS protein expression. ► Fucoxanthin did not exhibit NO production inhibitory activity at nontoxic concentration.
