Abstract
⺠Mycological profile and aflatoxins content were examined in 12 dried food commodities imported from Asia. ⺠Aflatoxigenic Aspergillus spp. were present in five commodities with low or undetectable levels of aflatoxin. ⺠Two food commodities showed no aflatoxigenic moulds but contained aflatoxins exceeding the EU maximum limits. ⺠There was no link between presence of aflatoxigenic moulds and occurrence of aflatoxins.
