Abstract
⺠Maytenus procumbens (L.M.P) showed the highest cytotoxicity on HeLa cells. ⺠A new triterpene: '30-hydroxy-11α-methoxy-18β-olean-12-en-3-one' (HMO) was isolated. ⺠HMO caused DNA damage and appeared genotoxic to HeLa cells. ⺠HMO induced apoptosis in HeLa cells through ROS generation.
