Abstract
⺠Diabetic hepatic dysfunction results from hyperglycemia and oxidative stress. ⺠Taurine, an antioxidant plays a beneficial role in organ pathophysiology. ⺠It augments intra-cellular antioxidant machineries and hepatic insulin signaling. ⺠It protects liver from mitochondrial dependent apoptosis. ⺠Taurine may act as a useful agent in hyperglycemia mediated liver dysfunction.
