Abstract
► Comparison between edible (PGJ) and non-edible (PGME) parts of pomegranate fruit. ► PGME exhibited much greater polyphenol content and antimicrobial activity than PGJ. ► First time demonstration: enhancement of ciprofloxacin activity by PGME. ► Ciprofloxacin-PGME combination is synergic against ESBL and MBL producing bacteria. ► A cost-effective way to combat global emergence of multi-drug resistant bacteria.
