Abstract
⺠Citrinin and patulin cause histological impairment of embryonic kidneys. Zebrafish embryos lose renal filtration function after citrinin and patulin treatment. ⺠Reduction of glomerular blood flow contributes to citrinin-induced renal dysfunction. ⺠Citrinin induces the expression of proinflammatory genes COX2a, TNF-α and IL-1β. ⺠Providing information to evaluate the health impacts of mycotoxins on developing kidney.
