Abstract
⺠Iron CYP2E1-independently promotes alcohol-induced oxidative/nitrative stress. ⺠Baicalin pretreatment prevents HepG2 cells from death induced by iron and alcohol. ⺠The main mechanism of cell protection by baicalin is through iron chelation.
