Abstract
► We design two peptides ECH (Glu-Cys-His) and YECG (Tyr-Glu-Cys-Gly) by glutathione. ► We evaluated antioxidant activity of peptides by chemical and cellular assay. ► Chemical assay was based on single-electron-transfer or hydrogen-atom-transfer. ► ECH tends to provide electrons and YECG tended to release hydrogen atom. ► His/Tyr and their position in peptide chain influence the antioxidant activity.
