Abstract
⺠We design two peptides ECH (Glu-Cys-His) and YECG (Tyr-Glu-Cys-Gly) by glutathione. ⺠We evaluated antioxidant activity of peptides by chemical and cellular assay. ⺠Chemical assay was based on single-electron-transfer or hydrogen-atom-transfer. ⺠ECH tends to provide electrons and YECG tended to release hydrogen atom. ⺠His/Tyr and their position in peptide chain influence the antioxidant activity.
