Abstract
► The subchronic toxicity of dioscin in rats was investigated. ► Dioscin had slightly subchronic toxicity in the male rats. ► Body weight gains were significantly decreased in male groups. ► The NOAEL value of dioscin was estimated to be 300 mg/kg/day for female rats. ► The LOAEL value of dioscin was estimated to be 300 mg/kg/day for male rats.
