Abstract
⺠Ethanol extracts of 188 medicinal plants were screened for NF-κB inhibitory activity. ⺠Chrysanthemum indicum Linne extract (CIE) inhibits Epstein-Barr virus LMP1-induced NF-κB activation. ⺠CIE inhibits LMP1-induced NF-κB activation by blocking IKKα or IKKβ activation. ⺠CIE treatment selectively kills EBV transformed lymphoblastoid cell lines. ⺠CIE has potent inhibitory effect on EBV-transformed LCL viability.
