Abstract
⺠Beetroot juice modulates the effect of NDEA on cytochromes P450 1A1, 1A2, 2E1 and 2B. ⺠Beetroot juice increases the activity of phase II enzymes: NQO1 and GST. ⺠Beetroot juice reduces the genotoxic effect of NDEA and the level of liver injury biomarkers. ⺠Metabolic alterations induced by beetroot juice feeding may protect against liver damage.
