Abstract
► Essential oil of the leaves of Eugenia uniflora L. has antimicrobial and antioxidant activities. ► Growing of Listeria monocytogenes and Staphylococcus aureus was inhibited. ► Growing of Candida species, C. lipolytica and C. guilliermondii was inhibited. ► The EO exhibited antioxidant activity and reduced lipid peroxidation in the kidney of mice.
