Abstract
⺠Essential oil of the leaves of Eugenia uniflora L. has antimicrobial and antioxidant activities. ⺠Growing of Listeria monocytogenes and Staphylococcus aureus was inhibited. ⺠Growing of Candida species, C. lipolytica and C. guilliermondii was inhibited. ⺠The EO exhibited antioxidant activity and reduced lipid peroxidation in the kidney of mice.
