Abstract
⺠There is very few reports describing toxic effect of Se on fish in general and on zebrafish in particular. ⺠Selenite caused cardiac and neural defects in zebrafish embryos disturbing genomic DNA methylation. ⺠Supplementation of folic acid rescued selenite-induced developmental abnormality. ⺠It will provide the risk assessment and prevention of selenite-induced embryotoxicity.
