Abstract
⺠γ Irradiation was applied to Portuguese chestnuts as a conservation method. ⺠γ Irradiation did not affect chestnuts nutritional parameters. ⺠Storage time influenced chestnuts chemical composition. ⺠Irradiation with doses till 3 kGy might be a suitable conservation technique.
