Abstract
⺠We investigate the toxic effects of characterized extract of Baccharis articulata. ⺠The extract induced apoptosis in PBMCs and mutagenic effects on erythrocytes of mice. ⺠The main compounds found were luteolin, acacetin, chlorogenic acid and tannins. ⺠The phytotherapy use of this species should be limited as it may cause damage.
